Topic > Reflection on the Declaration of Independence - 772

On April 27, 2015, I observed and became more knowledgeable about the artifact entitled the Declaration of Independence, authored by Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence, between June 11 and June 28, 1776, was created by a five-person team (but not by committee) that included the following: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Robert Livingston, ad Roger Shermann. Livingston refused to sign the Declaration of Independence because he believed it would not amount to anything at the time, nor would it be of good repute or advantageous to him. On July 8, 1776, the Declaration was signed in Philadelphia, and on this day it was also seen by the public for the first time. It is proven that what we know as LibertyLee, a farmer from Westmoreland County, Virginia, was commissioned by the state along with Patrick Henry and George Washington to successfully change American history. Thomas Jefferson made this possible by completing numerous drafts that ultimately created Congress and the constitutional rights of man; with the help of five other committee members, but primarily Ben Franklin and John Adams, the Declaration of Independence was presented to Congress in the Pennsylvania State House, which is now known as Independence Hall. In Jefferson's words, the Declaration was written: "In order to present to mankind the common sense of the matter in terms so clear and simple as to command their determination. With the determination of one man, Richard Lee Henry, he proposed the creation of the United States During his lifetime he witnessed crucial turning points for the thirteen colonies, the creation, birth and completion of the United States. According to American History, “Richard Henry Lee helped light the torch of American freedom and held it lit for his nation. From farmer, to politician, to congressman, to statesman, to patriot, to senator, Richard Henry Lee played a very important role in American history” (1994-2012) caught my attention from the movie "National Treasure, (2004)", the history this document holds is incredible and the way it was the origin of the United States is mind blowing if the Declaration of Independence had not been followed or signed, where would we be today? Life, liberty and happiness were some of the key factors that society advocated for the creation of the thirteen colonies in the United States, however, all men were to be treated equally and most importantly, we as a country were to resist
