David came from the Philistine in the name of the Lord of hosts. God allowed David to kill the giant because he was a faithful believer. «Then David said to the Philistine: You come to me with the sword, with the spear and with the shield; but I come unto thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the hosts of Israel, whom thou hast defied” (KJV, 1 Samuel 17:45). David's courage to face the giant as a young man was proof of his undeniable courage. David resented Saul and constantly evaded Saul's attempts to kill him. Saul had a great desire to eliminate his presence, but God protected David from all harm. For a long time David was kept in constant fear of falling at the hands of Saul, yet he persevered in a mild and respectful behavior towards his persecutor (Henry, 2001). David remained faithful to God's plan to make him King. A look at David's life cannot escape the obvious mistakes he made, but David never tried to blame others or make excuses for his sins (Fackler, 2006). David was patient in ascending the throne of Israel, even though he had to wait a long time for Saul's reign to end. David remained courageous during Saul's persecution. Many local churches can teach how David's courage and faithfulness to the Lord can generate blessings. Demonstrating courage in our lives is an important aspect
