The currently popular TV show "Pit Bulls and Parolees" is combating the negative image of Pitbulls, which the media has portrayed for so long. The show is a positive example of how Pit Bulls can be rehabilitated, while at the same time helping parolees reintegrate into society, giving both the dog and the parolee a new purpose in life. Most of these dogs were rescued from owners who abandoned them and left them to die. Both the Pit Bull and the parolee have been through similar situations, escaping death or the death penalty, and given a second chance at life
