In Chapter 13 we learned about Psychological Disorders. Psychological disorders are not always visible in everyday life, but it is something they have to deal with every day. Psychologists have tried many different approaches to help with a wide range of disorders and have tried to understand their causes. There are many different perspectives on how to approach a problem and analyze it. The psychological approach has many different perspectives. In the psychodynamic perspective the main point is that disorders arise from internal struggles that produce anxiety that translates into behavior. Trait perspectives are a “five-factor model” that accesses psychological/personality disorders. The humanistic perspective finds that disorders are often caused by people who are disappointed in themselves for not achieving the goals they/others expected them to achieve. I find that the psychodynamic perspective is what I would use in the approach because often internal conflicts are what cause my mood to change and make me feel anxious.
