To promote reading and literacy, Barnes & Noble has a tradition that brings all families together for joy and laughter, called Storytimes. The company hosts more than 25,000 Storytimes, giving children and their parents a chance to showcase old and new favorite picture books read by a bookseller, illustrator or seller. Regardless of age and economic group, children, teens, parents, education and reading enthusiasts nationwide are invited to participate in this annual reading festival introduced by Barnes & Noble. Many people participated because it is free and there is always a special promotion accompanied by the event, which will be low priced with the purchase of any two children's books. To increase the joy of reading, the company also offers some fun activities and free bookmarks for fifty participants in each store.
