Topic > Marriage in A Gravestone Made Of Wheat by Will Weaver

Even through death, love endures. Inge and Olaf lived a long and happy life together. “He also knew that few dreams could be better than this one. And in his long life with Inge, no one was” (25). They had two sons, Harry and Einar. When Inge died, the law prohibited Olaf from burying her on the farm and he had to make the difficult decision to cover her grave, but he knew that his family would remember her and love her. “She was real, Olaf thought, only to those who knew her, who loved her. Olaf suddenly realized that was the way he was supposed to stay. As in his life, in his death” (25). Even though Inge's grave had to remain secret, the people who loved her will always remember that she was there to reinforce the theme of love throughout the world.
