It was the summer of 1947 when Kenneth Arnold, a businessman and armor pilot witnessed the first of what would become many thousands of UFO sightings. Mr. Arnold's flight plans are where to fly from Chehalis Washington, returning home to Yakima Washington. During his flight Arnold was informed by radio that it had not been possible to locate a plane carrying American troops, after offering his help Arnold changed course and began to search an area around Mount Rainer. The weather conditions that day around 3pm were pleasant, with full visibility. After spotting no sign of the missing aircraft, Arnold returned to his previous route. After getting back on course, Arnold noticed something very unusual; High above him, in a pattern-like formation, 9 inexplicable saucer-shaped objects flew. These craft gave off a brilliant light and were the size of a large airliner. Observing these strange aircraft, Arnold made an educated guess that they were flying at a speed of 1200 miles per hour, which was faster than any aircraft of that time period. After observing the objects for some time, they vanished into the distance and Arnold landed his plane to tell the world what he had witnessed. After that day, other sightings were reported in the same general area. All similar to Arnold's meeting, which sparked a United States Air Force investigation, which was "officially classified" as a "mirage." This would be the first of many government reports that some believe are cover-ups. Which brings me to my next case and probably the most famous of its kind in the history of Ufology? Roswell, New Mexico, the “Holy Grail” for those of us who believe in UFOs and life beyond our planet, and in my def option. ..... middle of paper ......you're just doing it to get attention. Still others are so closed-minded and skeptical that they don't even look at the facts such as photos, videos and first-hand testimonies. We have been dealing with these unknown phenomena for more than 50 years. If you are the skeptical type I urge you to research the evidence and decide for yourself. There really is something intelligent out there touching this planet and we must demand the real truth about it. Instead of hiding it and hoping it goes away, why not let the people of the world decide for themselves? We, as a modern society, are capable of handling such life-altering trials. We are not blind to the fact that something is happening in our skies. Hopefully in the near future we will know more about this phenomenon known as UFOs.
