Executing a nursing practice model takes time, often years, and requires considerable preparation of the organization, nursing staff and their interdisciplinary colleagues. Registered nurses must model professional nursing practice themselves. It is through total commitment and daily involvement in creating and sustaining a model of nursing practice that is responsive to the strengths, needs and challenges of residents and patients.
