The lyrics of these songs are based on a young girl who longs to belong in a relationship. She dreams of falling in love and having her "superman" there to save and protect her when she needs him, like in a fairy tale. The composer used the technique of rhythm to engage the audience in the listening and allow a connection with the atmosphere and purpose of the song. This technique can be shown through appreciative lyrics and a simple chorus. The composer also used the repetition of the words “in his arms” to indicate the sense of wanting to belong and feel secure in a relationship. The alliteration used "Like Lois Lane" helps the audience to easily remember the lyrics and make a connection with the fairytale love of movie stars and fantasy stories. From the chorus we are shown that she is naive, as she wishes when cars pass by, which suggests that she is still young but wants a relationship or someone to sweep her off her feet and take her away. Alliteration can also be found in the lyrics “Still, she smiles” and “she says” these two lines give the feeling to the audience that the girl is covering up her desire of wanting to belong to a relationship while she is still looking. As her desire to belong pushed her to begin searching for “A Sign Lost in the Abyss,” she conveys to the audience that her love is nowhere to be seen. However, the song goes on to say, "Lift her up and take her anywhere, show her love and climb into the air, save her now before it's too late tonight." This line suggests that he has a sense of not belonging to the place he is in. and if left alone it can become suicide. It is for this reason that she wants her "superman" to save her from herself, from her life and be there to protect her, keep her safe. Through...... middle of paper......to the colored ducklings because they are positioned at a lower level; then define the superior group, for the advantage of numbers and for superior positioning. The bright, vibrant color of the single duckling stands out and creates emphasis in the image thanks to the soft, simple colors of the background and foreground. Together, all these different aspects of the techniques create a composition of what the image seeks to portray as a message through the visual text and technique. This composition is interpreted as the yellow duckling becomes a symbol of belonging. Because the duckling desires to belong to a social group, he is instead marginalized and given a sense of not belonging because of his color. This can be taken as a message against racism, skin tones and colors and our modern day-to-day isolation from each other due to differences..
