We knew that if we made a mistake we could be seriously injured. We couldn't figure out where we were coming from because there were many forks in the trail. We saw one boulder, but knew we couldn't get over it safely with the cliff there, so we opted for one of the many others. Sliding from root to root, we slowly descended the hill. Very often we found ourselves in a barren area, with no plants, no buried rocks or tree roots to help us along the straight section up and down. Roll over or slide completely onto your back until the next stop. The bags on our backs are starting to make this a lot more difficult, because we can't lie down completely, unless we take them off, and that's not an option, because they will roll down the hill, never to be found again. The sun was starting to set, we knew we had to hurry, so we continued down the hill with sweat dripping down our feet.
