Topic > Black Cultural Nationalism by Ron Karenga - 1167

Karenga wanted a black aesthetic to judge the validity of the artwork. He wants me to support the revolution and motivate people towards better times to come. Black art must be functional, collective and challenging. It will be judged on two levels, the artistic one and the social one, above all social though. Karenga wants art to express his hatred of the white man and motivate others to hate the white man. He wants everyone to forget the past and not let it affect their feelings. The black community needs to leave the past in the past so they can focus and not miss the opportunity that is in front of them. Art must remind them of their hatred of the enemy and their commitment to the permanent revolution they will fight
