The burden of being a womanJust a few lines to tell you that this article is only about myself: I don't write for any other purpose. I make no apologies for being selfish. This article is for women, not to preach or persuade, but just a good old fashioned story. Being a girl is a curse, deep down we all believe it. By living this "gender equality" lie, the war is over, sir! we lost. Now I could sit here all day and quote about feminist women and their rising stock, but instead I'll tell you the truth. Don't you dare preach what you don't practice. I myself have lived a life of rebellion against society and today I am independent of a man. 'Now, in the 20th century, what does it mean to be a lady? Being married? Being a mother? Social expectations of women are still the same as they were in 1900. Getting married and having kids, staying at home making jam while your husband is out working himself to the bone to provide for his near-perfect family life. However you like that wife stir the jam, listen to your son's screams and wonder what if. What if I had said no to marriage? And if I had a career, a brilliant career at that! Why do we constantly raise girls to be conventional? Your only goal as a parent should be to give your children a past that they won't have to recover from when they are old enough, so why do we give them a baby and a bottle to play with at age two, why should we as parents ? overall being so misogynistic. Your children will look back at you and your parents and wish they had guidance and someone to push them beyond the barriers of modern society. Wake up Australia! Wake up women! You are all as bad as each other. To make you understand my point, I feel like... middle of paper... this is the problem with today's society, when people hear the word "feminist" they think "a woman who wants it all" but no this is not true, it is a woman's right to be able to choose which part of everything to want. If you want children and love being my guest, it's your choice. If you want a career and a name for yourself, be my guest. I'm not here to tell you to divorce your husbands and deal with the problem on your own, I'm saying it's possible. This article is for the girls at home, unaware of the future they can have, the changes they can make to society. I Miles Franklin have too often faced the music of life at the pace of difficulties to waste time whining and venting about fantasies and dreams, so in this article I declare a ''yarn''. I give you my truest beliefs, it's not my career to convince women to think like a ''man'' it's up to you if you follow what I say.
