Muslims believe that God is the one and only and the reason for their existence, as stated in the Quran. Muslims believe that God or, as Islam knows, Allah created everything. Allah is the reason for the existence of everything in the universe and the purpose of being. The purpose of Islam is to worship Allah, love and be selfless towards others. (islamicsupremecoucil.com) All people are created equal and there is no one better than another, regardless of race, religion and nationality. No matter how different the person is, no one should be judged based on factors they cannot choose such as gender, color and size. (islamicsupremecoucil.com) Islam is a peaceful religion and does not believe in discrimination against others. They discover that all life is sacred, regardless of differences. Muslims follow a peaceful religion for the betterment of themselves and others in society, this is called jihad. Jihad has many different meanings for the Western world and for Muslims. In recent years, jihad has been misinterpreted due to the modern world and some Islamic groups, who have interpreted jihad in a negative way. Jihad is often misinterpreted by Western culture as holy war. However, this interpretation is sometimes misunderstood. In reality the word jihad means to struggle or strive to improve oneself internally and externally. (islamicsupremecoucil.com) Jihad is the struggle one faces to fight one's evil inclinations and strive to improve society and oneself. It is the internal struggle for self-defense and to become a better individual. Jihad defines many different struggles that Muslims must overcome throughout their lives. It is obvious that passages in the Quran regarding Jihad have been interpreted to allow the use of violence against others, including the innocent, women, children and the defenseless. These groups pursue an evil that is not related to jihad, on the contrary it is the cause of evil minds who think selfishly and only concern their own interest otherwise they terrorize the world. They are aware of the criminal acts they commit and feel no remorse or empathy for the innocent lives killed. Jihadists and the modern world have unfortunately contaminated jihad. For those who follow jihad and the Quran with faith and spiritual connection for the benefit of society, this is just the beginning. a long road to changing the mentality of many who believe that jihad is the “holy war”.”.
