a patient allocation model for the provision of nursing care: comparison of nursing staff satisfaction and stress outcomes” published in the International Journal of Nursing conducted a 6-month research in Australia to compare two nursing care models shared nursing, shared nursing (SCN) and patient allocation (PA) model regarding job satisfaction, level of stress at work, Job tension, ambiguity and role conflict in nursing. A quasi-experimental design was used for the study. The SCN model includes teamwork, leadership and professional development. Care is provided to a group of patients by a team of nurses and other staff with varying levels of education and skills, under the direction of an RN, the team leader. The PA model is also known for total patient care, where an RN is responsible for the total care of a number of patients. 4 departments created the SCN model and the other 4 departments delivered the PA model. Questionnaires were distributed and a total of 150 nurses returned questionnaires
