In Cormac McCarthy's science fiction novel, "The Road", two mysterious people, a father and his curious son, contact survival of the fittest during tragic apocalyptic times. With a shopping cart full of food and supplies, they dig through the remains of tattered homes, destroyed buildings and other places of refuge, avoiding common problems. Throughout the novel, they are afflicted by an illness that temporarily renders them unable to move forward. Due to the inopportune events that occurred before the apocalypse, the son's wife and father committed suicide due to these anonymous survivors lurking in the remnants of the earth. The last people on earth may be the "bad guys," as the boy describes them. On page 47 the wife reacted by stating: “Sooner or later they will catch us and kill us. They will rape me. They will rape him. They will rape us, kill us and eat us and you won't face it. You'd rather wait for it to happen. But I can't." This book falls into the category of science fiction as society has collapsed, achieving a total fall of civilization. Mysteriously, the reason for the apocalypse is never hinted at throughout the novel. Only the reader is forced to deduce what is possible. It is written only from a first-person or third-person view, limited to the interactions and setting between the lonely father and his prying son. As they work together to find their sources of survival, the two wanderers share their thoughts on other survivors around the world. In different parts of the coast, they will soon discover necessary objects or entities that should interest or be deeply forgotten. During the journeys, the two characters, son and father, dig through houses and buildings full of...... in the center of the card. .. actors, an unidentified apocalypse, and specks of detail, allowing readers to imagine a desolate setting on a blank canvas. Its two main characters, symbolizing the last strength for the human race, are forced to travel a road that extends to the coasts. The absence of everyday humans, plants, and wildlife generally suits the science fiction genre. Conversations between father and son are limited to simple words that the child can only understand. As a result, all responses produce discouraging lines of sadness and darkness, although the child remains innocent during the days of darkness. He is also an icon of the hope that the father clings to, incessantly caring for his son's life. Overall, this novel presents the terrible apocalypse in modern times from before, up to the consequences between two characters who will soon meet their fate..
