Becoming Environmentally Friendly What I think about Walmart's green initiatives is actually quite simple: the initiatives are working, and they're working well. In essence, the company is making a difference in and out of the business world. When you take Walmart's history and that of its competitors into consideration, it's very refreshing to see such a prominent company take a real stand on environmental issues rather than lead an environmentally friendly initiative and never think about it again. This is the reality of most established companies today. Many companies try to disguise their small attention-getting efforts as genuine social responsibility, a company's intention, beyond its legal and economic obligations, to do the right things and act in ways that are positive for society. Of course, that's nowhere near the top of the list. list of the most environmentally friendly companies. However, his executive leadership and socioeconomic vision, the idea that management's social responsibility goes beyond profit to include protecting and improving society's well-being, is still having a big impact. They are impacting the environment, they are impacting their suppliers and how they operate, and they are impacting the industry by serving as an excellent example to the competition on how to move to a more environmentally intelligent business and manufacturing model while remaining profitable. So, in my eyes, there is no question whether or not Walmart has achieved an environmentally friendly reputation. The question should really ask what Walmart's next initiative will be on its path to becoming a green powerhouse in retail
