At many points in the story it shows the irony of Madame Loisel's situation. From the moment of her marriage, during her growing up years, Madame Loisel desires what she does not have and dreams that her life is different from what it is. It is only after ten years of hard work and extreme poverty that she realizes the mistake that pride led her to make. At that point the years can no longer be recovered. In my opinion, the moral lesson of the story of the series is that we should not judge people based on appearances because they may seem rich and successful and they may not be. He also explains to us that we should not pine for material possessions, but realize that we are happy with what we have and should be satisfied with what we have and who we are. We must be honest enough to confess our mistake instead of running away from situations and going back. There is nothing wrong with having desires and dreams, but you need to know your limitations and status
