Since my appointment at Hillingdon School I have been given the opportunity to play a vital role in driving forward the ICT and Business departments and the Technologies curriculum area. These roles, coupled with the time I spent across the school's ICT development team, allowed me to develop a strong set of skills, experience and knowledge that helped prepare me for a senior position within a school of great success. Indeed, my experience of working within a school which achieved top marks in each of the key inspection questions has given me an understanding of what is required for continuous school improvement and a commitment to educational excellence. I strongly believe that the primary focus of any senior member of staff should still focus on learning and teaching despite being involved in the complexities of strategic management. In my roles, for the past nine years, I have tried to keep that mantra at the forefront of my mind. A strong leader, in my opinion, should be able to push things forward rather than be totally reactive in dealing with day-to-day processes. I would strive to be a transformational assistant principal, constantly looking forward and shaping the future of learning rather than being purely transactional. I am confident that this has contributed to the raising of standards within my CV... half of the document... I recognize that these skills and attributes are vital to the role of a senior leader and would welcome the continued development opportunity that the assistant principal role offers in this area. In conclusion, I believe I can offer a broad range of skills and experience in contributing to the ongoing development of a cohesive, dynamic and collaborative school that focuses on providing exceptional, world-class learning opportunities for all. I consider myself a good role model for students and staff and am committed to leading by example.
