Bullying is a serious problem in our nation, and with increasing technological advancements over the past decade, bullying itself has grown exponentially. Now, bullies can confront their victims in more ways than ever before in history. Instead of bullying people in social arenas like school, the public, or over the phone; Bullies can now reach their victims through social media and numerous other types of similar applications at any day or time. It can become relentless and overwhelming for the victim and in most cases there is not much help available to resolve the issue at hand. Many reported cases of bullying go unheard until they reach a breaking point and the victim lashes out at the participants or simply becomes angry at anyone nearby using various methods to harm their targets. The underlying problem is that bullying causes harmful and hateful harm and simply does not stop, it is the law of continuity and it is almost impossible to stop or prevent it in today's society. Bullying is at an all-time high due to technology and communication devices, causing a great deal of violence, distress and health problems (StopBullying). Additionally, school violence is often associated with bullying, especially in schools across the nation. Bullying comes in many different forms, most notably it begins by teasing, verbally hitting, and occasionally physically harming an innocent victim, which makes the bully feel as if he or she has gained self-worth from the actions he or she took against the innocent victim. Bullies find ways to mentally justify their horrible behavior and dismiss it as harmless fun. While teasing friends in a playful way is appropriate in most social situations, there is a fine line b...... middle of card ...... endorsing bullying of a human being in any circumstance to prepare him for the future. Just as importantly, I might side with a person who willingly inflicts harm on a bully because, say, if you were to walk in that person's shoes, you would most likely feel the same way. It reflects the pain the bully has caused the victim. The sad part is when the victim goes beyond reasonable retaliatory action to stop the bully out of sheer frustration. Both parties in that case are wrong, as the actions they forced on each other did nothing but cause harm. Fortunately, bullying has been in the spotlight lately, which has made significant progress in trying to prevent bullying and take a tougher stance against perpetrators. Unfortunately, it took several unnecessary incidents for people to have a good life without being bullied.
