The definition of love according to Dictionary.com is "a form of feeling or warm attachment to another person". This definition is important for my thematic article and my theme statement in this essay. My on topic statement is "just because you are loved doesn't mean everyone loves you." In the first part of my essay I will talk about my theme statement and then in the second half of the essay I will connect my theme statement to the story using quotes and personal analysis. The theme I came up with is not only important to the story of Jake Reinvented, but it is also important to life. Just because you are loved doesn't mean everyone loves you is a thematic statement that is shown throughout Jake's book Reinvented. I read the entire book and found 3 really great quotes that I can use as examples of why my thematic statement is so connected to the story Jake Reinvented. Chapter 3 is a good example of this as Jennifer really pays a heavy price. pays a lot of attention to Jake because she really likes Jake. However, Jake doesn't like Jennifer as much as he likes Didi, because all Jake does is focus on Didi all the time because he likes Didi. My reference comes from page 33 of chapter 3. "I didn't have a crush on her, any more than any other male on the planet, anyway." This shows that Jake thought Didi was cute and so did Didi and so did every other man on this planet. This is another good idea from my essay because it shows that everyone seems to like Jake but in reality Jennifer is mad at him because Jake doesn't look at her at all because Jake's attention is all on Didi. Another example of my theme statement is in chapter 4. Jake and Didi start talking a lot because Didi is re...... middle of paper ...... inviting a bunch of new people to her next party . This stands out because it shows how much Jakes loves Didi, but just because everyone loves Jake doesn't mean Didi is completely in love with Jake. Technically the reader thinks Didi loved Jake but now people who read the book are wondering what's going on and that's why I loved this book so much. Didi likes Jake but in this chapter Gordon Korman really makes it seem like Didi doesn't like Jake. I included 5 quotes and read the film and for the reasons above I believe my theme is a true theme to the book. It's a good book and I'm glad Mr. Larson let us read it. There is a lot of romantic tension in the story and this makes it really easy to write this themed article as I enjoyed the book and as it provides so many good examples. Works Cited Jake Reinvented
