Hemophilia is a very rare hereditary blood disorder that causes abnormal and prolonged bleeding in those affected. When affected people cut themselves, there are not enough clotting factors in the blood, so they bleed longer than usual, which can sometimes cause serious health problems. Although hemophilia is most associated with external bleeding, there is also the problem of internal bleeding.
