Is your goal to destroy the world? To destroy the environment here in this pure, blue world? While saving on petrol at the same time? If so, then you're in luck, because it looks like there's a hybrid vehicle at your local dealership, and these hybrid vehicles will destroy the world, devastate the environment, and save you some money on gas in the process. Now, how could these low-CO2 hybrid vehicles be so catastrophic? Well, what many don't know about hybrid vehicles is that raw materials such as lithium and nickel are needed to make the specific and special part of a hybrid vehicle, and they are obtained with a special technique that completely strips entire mountains of their tops , and also destroys the entire ecosystem around it. Many people buy into the idea that hybrid vehicles are greener than most gasoline vehicles; however, I believe this idea is not true for most hybrid vehicles in use today. Some might say that since we are already mining these rare earth materials like lithium and nickel for many everyday items like AA batteries and everyday electronic device that it shouldn't be any worse than drilling for gasoline. However, the demand for them is so great that a new extraction method has been developed to meet that demand, as the basis of the question on a piece called “”Hybrid Cars”: Not so Environmentally Friendly” by Colten Fortenbaugh states that the vehicle Average hybrid requires 70 pounds of these rare earth materials. Now nickel and lithium are raw materials that are found very close to the surface of the earth and are in great demand; therefore, they require a technique called strip mining, in which they literally blow up entire mountains with...... middle of paper ......error The hybrid vehicle produces less CO2 emissions than the gasoline vehicle, it produces less noise than the petrol engine, and actually saves you some petrol; However, if one is purchasing a hybrid vehicle so that one's conscience can rest easier knowing that one is helping save the world, then I'm sorry to say that is simply not true for the most part. As of now, hybrid vehicles mostly cause more harm than good to the earth than ordinary gasoline engines, producing a large amount of CO2 before they even reach the road, and the new hybrid vehicle technology is just a fake facade , so one I would buy the vehicle, as well as the hybrid vehicle that doesn't even perform well enough on the road to reach the breaking point where it absorbs the pollution produced during its production, but hey, saving money is a real thing too important right now, I pack.
