One holds the key to unlocking the yet-to-be-discovered mysteries of life. Leading to future advances, the discoveries made will push society to reap appreciable benefits. For example, Marie Curie, an influential scientist, has brought great benefits to society in various ways. His unforgettable and inspiring achievements, such as his work on radioactivity and the discovery of polonium and radium, sparked a new field of physics. Furthermore, he drew attention to the interior of the atom and brought his contribution during the First World War. By discovering the elements, polonium and radium, Marie Curie greatly influenced society in various ways. Polonium was used in small mobile radioactive devices. For example, it was applied in radiation sources that activated cardiac pacemakers, which helped the heart beat more regularly (Felder 9). Additionally, radiation sources used to manage static electricity contain polonium, which has reduced the huge number of fires and explosions in numerous industries. As a result, safe industries were created that prevented multitudes of deaths (Felder 9). Furthermore, radium has also had a positive impact on society. Since radium can emit light, it was used in night lights. Furthermore, wellness centers arose, which satisfied both men and women. The mud and radium water which were used in the spa (Crezo) originated from radium. They left my skin soft and healthy looking. After a while, radium cream developed and the company flourished. Additionally, radium was used in chocolate, toothpaste, and makeup before the risks were revealed (Crezo). Additionally, radium also emits gamma rays, which kill cancer cells. Therefore, it has been used to treat medical conditions such as cancer (“Uses of Radium”)M...... middle of paper ...... ute seeks to cure and fight cancer, which hopefully it will save numerous lives. Safety regulations were established for workers because radium was a dangerous element to handle. They had to wear lead shields on their hands to prevent any harm and damage (Huso). Additionally, the Curie Institute manages 13,000 patients annually. Furthermore, the institute employed 3,200 collaborators (“Marie Curie Charity Gala 2013”). Marie Curie influenced society yesterday and today. Therefore, she is known as one of the most influential women of all time. His unforgettable successes have left an indelible mark on history. Her hard work, which led her to achieve her fantastic efforts, will always be cherished in everyone's hearts and minds. All in all, Marie Curie's outstanding achievements have changed society in a positive way, which should be rewarded with a standing ovation.
