President Barack Obama believes in the individual's Second Amendment right to bear arms; However, to better protect our children and communities from tragic mass shootings, the President has unveiled a series of proposals that aim to reduce gun violence in the country. These proposals require anyone selling a gun to carry out adequate background checks and want the national database to include more mental health information that could require doctors to disclose the mental health status of their patients (Now is the time, 2013).
