Whatever path you choose to take, you must have a bachelor's degree and obtain a nursing license. To obtain a nursing license, first, you must graduate from an approved nursing program and pass the National Board licensing exam. Generally students will take anatomy, chemistry, nutrition and some other classes while in school (Bureau5). In addition to becoming an RN, you typically get a lesser (but still good) job, because employers know how advancement works. Should one demonstrate that they have experience, work well, and continue to further their education, they will generally be promoted to a position with more responsibility and sometimes better pay (Bureau 6).
