Every creation cannot continue, projects stop and someone else takes over. The poet feels that different works, achievements and traditions can vanish instantly. The end is not the best time to look forward and wait. The pinnacle has already happened in life during the period of realizing desires, plans and goals. The poet fears that the worst is yet to come. “It is the finality of it all that seems to concern Updike most.” (Bachelor 217). Readers perceive a feeling from mr.
