Or when you're home alone and you're sure you heard someone or something. When you turn when you hear something and everything is a long dark corridor. In this article you will read about some of the scariest places in America. Imagine walking alone in one of those buildings and hearing a noise or seeing someone or something, but you know you are completely alone. Or are you? Norwich State Hospital, Lizzie Borden House, Stanley Hotel, White House, and Oak Plantation are some of the buildings where rape, beatings, death, starvation, ax murders, and enslavement occurred . Lizzie Borden's house is one of the most historic haunted houses in America. The Borden family owned the house. The Borden family wasn't always rich and famous. The father, Andrew Borden, worked for his own money. They lived in a city full of business and didn't live in a big fancy house like all the other entrepreneurs. They lived in a small average house. They lived in the same neighborhood as middle-class workers. Lizzie didn't like it. He wanted to live a rich and luxurious life. Her father, Andrew, sent her to England with her aunt to live there and try to live a rich life. He hated it. As a child, about two years old, Lizzie's mother died. His father, Andrew, remarried. Lizzie didn't like her stepmother even though she didn't remember her real mother at all. She never truly accepted her stepmother as the person who raised her. And then one afternoon they were thieves sunk in the house in the middle of the paper along the cobblestone road so they went out to see who or what was coming to the plantation. When they came out there was no one or nothing, one of the plantation employees said he heard something, so they went to see what it was and saw a group of rocking chairs all rocking at the same time. Another of the workers said he saw multiple things moving on the desk tops. One of the couple's tour guides was giving a tour when suddenly a chandelier flew across the room. Another of the employees reported hearing someone crying inside the villa. A Mitchell Born employee was working alone one night inside the mansion when he felt someone touch his arm. One of the tour guides was walking around when they hadn't taken a tour and saw a figure sitting upright in one of the beds. ("Ghost Tales”).
