During the adolescent period in one's life, emotions and feelings become more evident. It's a time when you start to search for yourself and discover who they are and what their personality is. Sometimes it is not easy to portray these emotions and feelings and you may not know how to handle them. In some cases these feelings and emotions could be represented in a bizarre form and become a mental disorder or problem. In Aurthur Miller's The Crucible, Abigail Williams, the antagonist, shows signs of abnormal adolescent behavior, schizophrenia, and shows that she cannot easily manage her emotions. The ways in which these emotions and feelings are sometimes conveyed are sometimes seen as kinky acts and are better known as abnormal adolescent behavior. Abnormal adolescent behavior occurs during the transition from childhood to adulthood. (Age 12-17) Abnormal adolescent behavior can best be described as acts performed by an adolescent that are not easily accepted in society. They are bizarre, wild and almost crazy acts. Some teenagers reach a stage where they start experimenting with different things and some start acting wildly without necessarily being able to control themselves. Some symptoms of this disorder may be aggressive behavior that may harm or threaten other people or animals, destructive behavior that may damage or destroy property, early sexual activity, and lying or stealing. These signs and actions can lead to an increased likelihood of the teen having suicidal thoughts or attempts, academic difficulties, increased chances of injury, and problems with the law and sexually transmitted diseases. What can or may cause or determine this abnormal behavior in an adolescent may be rejection by parents, peers and... half of the document... igail was accused of lying, Abigail stated that she saw Mary as a yellow bird spreading its wings descends on her trying to take away her soul. Abigail's actions throughout the story lead us to believe that after pretending to see things for a while, she becomes schizophrenic. At first people never really understood what he meant when he said he saw things. After Abigail accused people and the accused were hanged, Abigail continued to accuse innocent people. These people were immediately imprisoned. Abigail and the girls would have to show up at the trials to prove that these people were witches and other "evil" beings. Abigail acted every time and countless innocent people were hanged. He felt no emotion or remorse for what he had done or what he was doing. This tells us that Abigail has become schizophrenic.
