IntroductionThe entrepreneur is "an individual who takes the initiative to pool resources in innovative ways and is willing to endure risk and/or uncertainty to act" (Hisrich, 2013). The entrepreneurial process is unique in itself; as it does not simply involve taking enormous risks, but also evokes some of the individual's most creative and innovative characteristics. This dynamic process pushes the aspiring entrepreneur to his limits in an attempt to fully exploit the particularly identified opportunities available in the market. Among the entrepreneur's objectives is to effectively adopt and implement processes and procedures that guarantee the ability to satisfy the needs of potential customers. Furthermore, as the entrepreneur works hard in an effort to create something new or add value to a product or service; the ultimate goal is the successful acquisition of significant wealth. For the aspiring entrepreneur there are several successful examples of “corporate entrepreneurship” that can serve as sources of motivation. Some of these corporate entrepreneurial ventures include: Hewlett-Packard Company, Microsoft Corporation, Apple Inc, and Dell Computers Inc. Hewlett-Packard In 1934, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard graduated from Stanford University; shortly thereafter Packard takes a job working for General Electric Schenectady, New York, while Hewlett completes graduate work at MIT and returns to Palo Alto, California (Hp Garage Timeline, 2014). During 1937/38 Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard join forces by holding their first official business meeting and undertaking the development of HP's first product, an audio oscillator.
