Types of Testing and the Impact on Employers and EmployeesModern business entities operate in a highly competitive and dynamic environment. In this regard, organizations are always on the alert trying to attract the most suitable and capable staff. Despite the fact that job seekers may have exceptional academic qualifications; Employers subject employees to vigorous and thorough assessments to evaluate individuals' suitability, credibility and capabilities. No organization wants to be left behind in terms of high and superb efficiency levels. In an effort to verify and ensure that an organization has the most competent employees; employers apply a series of tests to employees (Ployhart, 2006). These tests are applied to newcomers entering the organization. Additionally, periodic tests may be applied to current employees to evaluate their performance. This document takes an in-depth look at the various types of tests applied by organizations and their influence on both employees and employers. Types of Tests Assessment Center Assessment Assessment centers could be used to measure a diversity of skills; however, assessment centers are primarily used to measure or analyze a potential/current employee's communication, interpersonal, planning, organizational and analytical skills. Additionally, the assessment center could consist of exercises that evaluate job content and problems encountered in the workplace. For example, employees in a sales department might be evaluated based on their ability to make sales in a certain environment.
