There are two theories of aging. The disengagement theory occurs when older adults unfortunately begin to give up on activities or social life. They withdraw from society. This is when you free yourself from any way of contact or interaction. The reason for the disengagement theory could be the deterioration of physical functions. There are three phases of the disengagement theory. This is a reduction in living space when you are not working or have no contact with friends and family. You can't meet new people. Decide not to pursue any hobbies or activities. The second stage is the increase of individuality. This is when you become independent and what others do doesn't matter to you. The third stage is acceptance. You start to accept things as they are. You accept that it is the last phase of life and you don't try to fight it.
